She walked in a dark forest, the howls of others coming to her keen ears.
The she wolf was looking for a mate you see, a mate to play with and to hunt. She howled a long seductive call and
waited. The she wolf heard many calls and ran to find the others. She followed many voices then, many masculine howls. She saw a bright and shining pelt and with that one she flirted, sang and played a dangerous game.
She knew he did not love her, but oh, how their passions filled the air with happy, happy sounds. And all the while there was another smaller male. His pelt was patchy, he was not strong like the others and he was small. This little male howled for the she wolf each day, checking to make sure she was well. He spoke with her of many things. There was no passion, but he was the one male who looked past the she's feminine charms to the heart of gold hidden by thick and glossy fur.
When the shining male betrayed the she, she ran through the forest again. She flirted with many males again, but still there was that little one.
It came to be that she answered his calls and answered the passions that had been hidden. She found out that under the little males patchy coat was a heart even more pure than her own. He made the she his alpha queen and gave her many gifts. But the thing he gave her most of all was love for her that went past what the other males were so fixed upon. So now she rules with her little male, alpha queen of her pack. The little male stands right beside her, his eyes never straying, nor his golden heart.
